ssradio's own Steve Tee will be doing his souljazzfunkdisco thing at the stunning LODGE bar in Harlesden, London on Sunday 19th February
www.thelodgebar.co.uk
This is an event organised by the regulars on Norman Jay's 'cratediggers' forum, found on Norman Jay's website www.normanjay.com
All DJs are veterans of the club scene and will be digging deep in their collections to provide the perfect Sunday soundtrack. The event runs from 3.00 in the afternoon until midnight and beyond and Steve will be on the decks from 9.30 until 10.30 pm
Entry is FREE all day, the bar will be worryingly well-stocked and the Lodge does a mean roast dinner. If you're in or around London come along and make sure you say hello and introduce yourself.
Full line-up is as follows:
3 – 4
Charlie C
A Londoner at heart, Charlie C started playing assorted bars and clubs in S. London as favours for mates and has carried on in this tradition for the last 15 years. After a few away trips to Asia and Paris, again playing for friends and family, no funeral, bah mitzvah or christening has been too inappropriate for his blend of laid back funk, up tempo jazz and everything in between.
4 – 4.45
Marcus G
Marcus has dj’ed at several top venues around London including The Wag, Mud Club at Bagleys and Orange at The Rocket as well as appearing at Safe Haven at seminal Manchester club Sankeys Soap.
4.45 – 5.30
Xeniese TBC
5.30 – 7.30
Balearic Assasins of Love
King Sunny Ade P, Sherman and Steve Ellis are Balearic Assassins of Love. A friendship cultivated in cyberspace through a shared passion for leftfield pop gems, obscure disco, prog rock and the Balearic Spirit has developed into an informal dj’ing collective of the highest order. Ade, originally from The Republic of Mancunia, hosts his own nights in Sussex, Steve’s “Keep It Wheel” sessions take place each week in Enfield and Sherman comes out if there is nothing better to do.
7.30 – 8.30
Snoopy
The original 70s club-head, record-freak, writer, vocal coach, music fanatic. Snoops DJ’s at countless house parties, is a regular at Crate Digger parties and makes rare appearances at South London Pacific (From Rushour With Love) and SMERSH. The Don is currently writing a book - CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES - on 50 years of black music from America, UK and Jamaica.
8.30 – 9.30
Saturday Kid v Dave Holloway
Dave was captivated by house music in 1988 at the age of 14 and has been an avid collector of Soul, Funk, & Disco ever since. Dave’s sets are truly eclectic and include practically every known genre. He set up a monthly night called Diabolical Liberties in 2004 and is also a partner in the now legendary Cigarettes & Sunshine gigs at Epsom on Derby Day. Saturday Kid is keeping a low profile!
9.30 – 10.30
Steve Tee
Steve Tee has been collecting music and DJing since the late 80s, usually playing at one-off parties and bars in and around the London area. He was also the resident DJ for the infamous 'Ride the Rhythm' parties in the mid-90s, held on the South Coast in a number of bars, clubs, student houses and empty buildings. Steve now has a weekly radio show every Sunday Lunchtime on www.ssradiouk.com playing soul, jazz, funk, disco and everything else in-between.
10.30 – close
Dayo v Davy DMX “Godfather soundclash”
