Quote: "Powerful, soulful Canadian blues singer, Diana Braithwaite returns to the UK this year with her Big City Blues Band. Dubbed "Canada's National Treasure", Diana Braithwaite's voice sears through time, taking audiences back to where the blues began. Her performances are memorable and captivate audiences all over the world. With her powerful voice, and unique uplifting stage show, her performances shouldn't be missed".

Sunday, 19/03/2006, The Drum, THE LIVE BOX, Birmingham, 0845 300 6200.
Quote: "The Live Box at the Drum has become synonymous with pioneering live jazz, poetry and acoustic Hip Hop in Birmingham. For close to 6 years it has been a premier jam session spot for regional musicians as well as attracting larger name national and international artists; and has consistently broken down boundaries between ‘high art’ and ‘street culture.’ The Drum is based in the Aston area of Birmingham and is the national centre for Black British arts and culture - Europe's first arts centre dedicated to developing and promoting African, Caribbean and Asian arts and culture.
The outstanding quality of the music stood out: sustaining the event, and keeping the demand growing from audiences and jazz musicians across the city.
The event itself has retained its own signature style of delivery. Every Sunday evening, starting with a performance of rehearsed material from the main artist, it then opens up to members of the audience to participate in the jam session. "
