Sonny makes a very welcome return to Essex to lead his band - Peter Catlin on guitar, Henk Leerink on bass and Stuart Marshall on drums - through an exquisite set ranging from slow blues to shuffles and rockier numbers without doubt one of the finest blues guitar players in the country, Sonny Black is well known for the subtlety and skill of his approach to blues guitar as well as his fine band.?(Boogaloo Promotions) 'Not only is his technical mastery of both acoustic and electric instruments complete, he also possesses that quality that can only be called blues soul.' Any more details on the new CD you mention in this newsletter - I'd love to see a new studio album from the great man, big fan of his 1990s releases. Hopefully, any CD will show off the range of the great man's talents

Any news on Sherman Robertson dates in 2006 - some of the lists I've seen show quite a few as tentative or to be confirmed. Have never seen him live but all my mates who have claim it's not to be missed

Still no news on the site about a studio CD release date...

However, you don't say whether or not you have picked up "Guitar Man - Live" - if not, then do so because it is a GREAT live blues album. Paul Jones (Radio 2) raved about it and there's been generally good reviews all round, including the one on this site. And you could always try and win it in the Shades Of Blue competition - I've already got the album so I don't mind stirring up the competition
