You can now register as a user of the forums. This will allow you to edit your own posts (within a set time limit). You will still able to read the forums, reply to posts and create your own threads without registering but your entries will simply show up as being created by a Guest poster.
If you register you can also set your own preferences (set your privacy options, add a little description about yourself, pick your own GMT value to reflect where you live etc.)
Note that when you create your login, you have control over what is shown on the site. At no point will your email address be displayed on the site unless you have set up your account to allow it!
