** Nidd Hall Blues Weekend **

There are still a few places left for the Blues Weekend, taking place 9-12 September in Nidd Hall, Harrogate   Eugene 'Hideaway' Bridges replaces Lou Pride, who has had to cancel his UK tour as a result of ill-health.   Born in New Orleans, Eugene's soul soaked voice and dazzling guitar playing has earned him a fine reputation as well as many international awards. Eugene tops a phenomenal line-up with Lightnin' Willie & The Poorboys (now with Sam Kelly on drums), Doug Jay & The Blue Jays, Hamilton Loomis and the Lyndon Anderson Band plus special guest Tim Aves.  Chris Powers is MC for this weekend and Blue Touch are leading the jam sessions. Nidd Hall is a Grade II listed house built in grand baronial style, set in 45 acres of landscaped gardens, with its own boating lake.  The price of £219 includes three nights half board, all the music and use of the extensive sports and leisure facilities.  To book ring 0870 601 6012 quoting code RNB05.

** Mick Pini Band September Tour **

Mick Pini will be returning to the UK for an extensive tour in September only interrupted by a return to Germany for the Lubecker Blues Festival.  As well as touring Europe with B.B. King and supporting such blues greats as Buddy Guy, Freddie King and Jimmy Rogers: Mick Pini has earned himself a strong following, particularly in Europe. Eric Clapton described him in 1996 as ‘The legitimate successor to Peter Green’.

However, Mick Pini is unquestionably a unique living legend in his own right ... the genuine article. His authentic voice and outstanding guitar work personifies the blues in an inimitable way.

Mick has toured the world for 30 years and has never had a day job. He lives, breathes, plays and sings the blues with genuine passion even his 1954 Fender Stratocaster smokes!

** Memo Gonzalez & the Bluescasters September Tour **

Memo Gonzalez & the Bluescasters will also be returning to the UK for an extensive tour in September.   Their journey through the blues took off back in 1995. You'd think they'd done 'n seen it all by now, after so many days on the road and so many nights in hotel rooms. Yet their tour bus keeps rolling through Europe, from town to town, from country to country, faster 'n ever -- its arrival eagerly anticipated by their ever-growing fan community. If you've seen and experienced Memo Gonzalez & The Bluescasters live, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Though these musicians have great respect for the blues as an institution, as a group they're firmly rooted in the present. "We want to be a band that's happening right now." That is to say, Memo Gonzalez & The Bluescasters aren't interested in re-creating the originals note for note. These guys present a rip-roaring mixture of blues, swing, and rock 'n' roll that they have branded their own. Few music genres must contend with as many prejudices and clichés as the blues, but Memo Gonzalez & The Bluescasters simply shake up the (in)famous 12 bars and set in motion an earthquake.
