Word has it that there is going to be an Ella Fitzgerald tribute album scheduled to be released on 6/5. It has tracks from modern artis (Natalie Cole, Chaka Kahn, Queen Latifah ect.) performing some of Ella’s standards. Frankly I think it is a good thing to have these modern artists perform these songs to widen the appeal of old school jazz that shaped what music is today. What do you all think?
