It is indeed sad news - it's inevitable that more and more of these great innovators will be leaving us givenpassing of the years

Let's not forget that there is still great R&B, blues and soul music being made today - Just recently, we've had James Hunter (see separate thread), Eric Bibb, Keb' Mo', albums from Solomon Burke, Bobby Purify, Sam Moore, Robert Randolph (although last album a bit of a disappiointment) and straight blues releases too numerous to mention. It's still there if you go looking
