Anyone else see Clapton at his recent Albert Hall gigs????

We saw him on the Friday (19th May) and, overall, he was excellent - just about every period of his career was covered (except Cream) and we got a nice acoustic change of pace mid set. Also had the excellent Derek Trucks on additional guitar, and his slide playing in particular was very fine. We were stuck up in the Circle however, and the sound was very iffy, worst I've ever heard at the venue, with some very dodgy echo all the way through the show.

Didn't know until we got there that Robert Cray was the support. He majored mainly on his later stuff, which was a shame because his opener 'Phone Booth', from his earlier 'breakthrough' period, was the highlight of the set. Great playing, but song selection left a lot to be desired

Thought Eric was excellent - went more in hope than expectation. Never seen him live before, felt it was now or never!

Agree with you about the sound - we were up in the gods and the echo was very noticeable. We've been up there before and never noticed it before, so maybee it was the actual position we were in (to the left of the stage as you look at it). In the past, when we've been in the Circle we've always faced the stage directly and the acoustics have always been fine
