** Bugs Henderson and the Shuffle Kings **

Late March/early April will see the return to the UK of Bugs Henderson and the Shuffle Kings for just 3 UK dates during an extensive European tour. Also listen out for a Bugs Henderson track on the Paul Jones Show on the 30th March.  http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/jones/

"His mixture of searing blues, jazz ability, swing, funk, and just about everything else that can be played on six strings; Bugs has the ability to give his audience a sense of true musical art, applying enormous control over his tone and coloration."

Bugs has played with guitar icons such as B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Ted Nugent, James Barton, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. To this day, Bugs' guitar hangs in Hard Rock Cafe' in Dallas along side instruments donated by Lee Ritenouer and Chet Atkins."

** Steve Arvey and BluesMove UK Dates **

Steve Arvey and BluesMove will be touring the UK once again in April:

http://www.movinmusic.co.uk/steve_arvey/images/steve_arvey_crosroads.jpg

I SUPPOSE you could call Chicago’s Steve Arvey a blues musician, you could call a cat a dog if you like. In truth he’s more a force of nature, a force that the basement of Barrels, Berwick on Tweed struggled, and at times failed, to contain. The cocktail of blues/rock and even some ‘home-grown’ country left the audience punch drunk but thirsty for more. Some people play music and look like accountants, some look like they were born to play.

** Family Style Band UK Dates **

Italy's top blues band - Family Style - will be in the UK in April:

"... and the stage was set for an absolute belter of a gig. Much of their material is original and covers a huge range of styles: funk, Chicago blues, shuffles, New Orleans style beats, cool jazzy stuff, summat for everyone really. Franco Limido was great on harp and vocals, imagine a singing Paul Lamb and you'll get the idea! The bass/drum backline were Dog's Bollocks candidates and the band was fun to watch, too, with some inspired clowning on "Crazy Legs". " - Dave Kingsbury from the Running Horse, Nottingham's website (2004).

** Sherman Robertson & BluesMove Euro Tour & CD Release **

Sherman Robertson returns to Europe for the first time in 06 at the end of April to promote the release of his and BluesMove's new CD "Guitar Man - Live" on Crosscut Records. The album will officially be released by Crosscut on April 28th. For more info please visit: http://www.crosscut.de/ or Crosscut's mail order catalogue.  Pre orders from Crosscut will be available from the 20th April.

http://www.movinmusic.co.uk/sherman_robertson/images/sherman_bob.jpg

Last month's fRoots magazine ran a great review of this album:

"Should it ever be necessary to look for a guitar hero to step into Buddy Guy's shoes then Sherman Robertson could be the very man. Like Buddy, he was born in Louisiana and has spent years playing hard, paying his musical dues before becoming a known name on the scene. Strong of voice and in full possession of a ferocious guitar technique, Sherman summons a similar intensity to that of Mr Guy. His full-on performance is superbly captured on his latest album "Guitar Man - Live" recorded at a Dutch festival in May 2005. Backed by the British trio BluesMove, who do a really superb job, Sherman claims the stage and struts his stuff like a man possessed. A hot album that definitely marks a high spot in this impressive artist's career." Dave Peabody - fRoots magazine Spring 06
